Celebration Party Update!

Yoga at Worlds!

The 2007 World Dragon Boat Championship committee is happy to announce that Suzanne Hennig (www.p3yoga.com) will be holding a high performance yoga class each day prior to starting events.

Suzanne is an established yoga professional based in Canada and the creator of “The Yoga Advantage” (TYA) which is a yoga program specifically designed for Dragonboat athletes.

TYA combines elements of Iyengar with Hatha Yoga as well as Meditation and Breathing Practices. Using this multi-dimensional repertoire of techniques she creates a specific program that helps improve mental and physical performance. Yoga techniques that assist high level athletes speed up the muscle recovery process especially after hard training and competitions, by helping stretch and soothe aching muscles and build stronger joint connections.

The other component of “TYA” is the mental factor. There are four key success areas for high mental performance; thoughts, emotions, spirit. TYA helps athletes by investing time in the development of attitude, confidence, and character, through positive visualization and meditation techniques. All of which are instrumental in athletic performance.

• Time: Every morning prior to races
• Duration: 30 to 45mins
• Where: Behind the Grand Stand (grassy area between the carpark and the boats sheds)
• Bring: Bring a towel or mat

Dragon boats fitted with CoxVox harness & speakers

NK will be outfitting every Dragon Boat at the World Championships with a full CoxVox harness & speakers.

You will only need to supply a NK CoxVox unit (or CoxBox) plus microphone to have a fully operational audio system.
Don’t have a CoxVox? Then NK will have a limited number of units for hire. If you decide to purchase the unit at the regatta, your entire hire fee will be credited towards your purchase price.

The harness & speaker systems from the boats will also be available for sale, at HALF PRICE, to be picked up at the end of the regatta. Of course, all these systems come with our 2 year warranty.  As the availability of these units is limited to what we have at the regatta, you can reserve one by coming & seeing us at the NK display in the exhibitors area or contacting us before the event at info@nk.com.au

We will also have battery charging facilities & spare parts on hand at our exhibit. Details on the NK CoxVox unit are available in the downloads menu from www.nk.com.au

The Coaching Workshop Programme will be held on Tuesday 18th September from 12noon to 5pm at Chifely Hotel, Penrith.

Topics presented include intelligent paddle technology and physiology of dragon boat racing.

Hear speakers from Australia and overseas discuss approaches in selecting and coaching elite crews.
